We partnered with Surrey County Council to run a pilot programme for children with SEN/D as part of their short breaks’ initiative, with the view to expand places and access from January 2025-March 2025.
Program Overview:
We’re offering free day camps specifically designed for children aged 6-14 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Camp Details:
We ran activity camps on Saturdays and Sundays from 2 PM to 6 PM, as well as a half-term camp that ran Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 2 PM. The best part? It was completely free to register!
The camps took place at The Matthew Arnold School in Staines and St James Senior School, also in Staines. We had limited spots and these were all oversubscribed. This was a massive success and we will be looking to run something similar in the future.
Staffing and Safety:
To ensure a safe and supportive environment, we maintained a 2:1 ratio of trained teachers and coaches to children. This way, every child got the attention they deserved.
Fabulous coaching company, my son really enjoys both the holiday camps and 1-2-1 training. He’s forever asking when he can go back to starplayer. Very well organised, great facilities and top quality training team.
My two children attended the summer club for the first time and absolutely enjoyed every day that they attended. The staff were fantastic and updated me on how each day went. They enjoyed the lunch also and made friends. They told me that they would much rather attend Star Player than school. Thanks to the amazing staff you were all brilliant , they are looking forward to the next holidays!
Fantastic coaches and brilliant organisation. We had our siblings signed up to come to their Easter camp which they absolutely loved. They also do 121 sessions and my brother has gotten so much better from doing one session a week for the last 4 months, can’t thank them enough.

Best summer camp. My girls had the best time and the staff were so kind an caring. Honestly the best place to send your kids.
Fabulous football camps and 1-2-1 training. Really well organised. Very friendly, caring and inspiring coaching team. My son always comes away happy and asking when he can go back again. Would highly recommend.

Our sessions are extremely rarely cancelled. One circumstance that may force sessions to be called off is the weather, but only in very extreme conditions.
